Today we go to have a big meal with our teacher from mainland China.
Our teacher,嚴石林, teaches us the Diagnosis of Chinese Medicine.He has come here for 3 mouth. Next week, he will go back;as a result, we hope to leave a good memory to him.We prepare him a wonderful meal near our school.
Our teacher is so nice!!He is willing to answer all kinds of medical problem with patience. Besides, he teaches really well.All the concepts of the course seem easy under his explanation. I really enjoyed his class because I actually learn something.It's an honor to be his student.
At the end of the meal,teacher addressed us.In his speech, he wished all of us will be a good doctor.He believes we will be a leader of Chinese Medicine in the future.With enough knowledge,we will truely help the patient and do something important to the society. After his speech,some of us bursted into tears. He is really a nice teacher!!
Thank u teacher!!Hope I can see u again!^^

5/26 I went to Grand Hyatt Hotel in Taipei to cerebrate our success of the music competition .Melody Chorus ,the club I join, won the laurel of the competition last month.Our teacher who is a famous conductor promise us a big breakfast in Hyatt.
About 40 people went there to enjoy the meal. All of us were so happy because we finally beated 政大.Our teacher was so happy that in this morning we barely thought how strict she asked us in th practice before. The meal is really delicious that many of us went to take the same dish again. I thought the bread is the most delicious one in the meal. I ate many .
The whole morning we enjoyed the meal and chatted happily. I really love this chorus!!

A picture

This is a picture taken in Switzerland. On the left side of the picture, we can see a big tree with yellow leaves. Under the tree are lots of chairs. A man under the tree walked casually. It seemed the man enjoyed the landscape. There is a big lake beside the tree. The color of the lake was blue. The water of the lake was so lucid that we can see the reflection of the mountain clearly. On the middle of the lake, we can see a great fountain. Far from the lake, we can see a green mountain with its color reflected on the lake. On the top of the picture, white cloud drifted about the blue sky. The tree, the lake, the mountain, and the blue sky compose a beautiful picture.

Flog!!

5/8, we dissected a flog in Biology Lab. This time, the most important thing we should know was the blood circulation of the flog which is quite similar to the human. Different from the dissection we perform last week(shark), all the important vessels and organs must be recognized!(We have to recite all the English names of these things.)
Dissection needs full concentration. It permits no errors;otherwise, we might cut off some important vessels or something we need to observe.Some vessels are less than 1mm in width!Fortunately, we did all the steps quite well and the organs of the flog can be seen clearly.

The exam : the Diagnosis of Chinese Medicine

Last week was the midterm exam of diagnosis.I had prepared for this exam for a long time.However,diagnosis is not quite easy as I imagined before.There are lots of things I have to remember.For example, I have to recite all the causes of some specific symptoms.If I don't have right methods of reading , remembering all of these will be a tough task.Luckly,our teacher from China gave us his notes of this subject.This helped us find the important points of the texts.
The day before the exam, my roomate burned the midnight oil because they didn't read before. Someone even didn't sleep whole night!!However, the exam was quite easy.The exam was over and pressure is disappeared now.

This week(4/16~4/20)

Busy!!!
This week is for us. It is Chinese Medcine week.
I have many duties to do in this week.First of all, I must make cosmetics which are made from Chinese medicine last friday.It took me lots of time(at least 6 hours) .All of these will be sold in this week.Second,we must cook foods made of Chinese med.It is also cost many time to cook the soup.After finishing the food, another tough job comes--sell it out.It's hard to controll the scene full of people waiting in line.It makes me nervous for fear that I might forget to receive the money coming from the guest and It puts a great pressure to us when the guest wait in front of us and with their face full of impatience. I worked under this circumstances for three days!!However, it is worthy.The food we sell were "robbed of" in less than 20 min.Many people thought it delicious!!Nothing is happy than this when u hear such compliment^^.

How to go to see a doctor in Taiwan
When we are sick, it’s very important to get proper medical treatment with view to relieving our illness. Since we don’t have enough medical knowledge, we’d better consult doctors instead of finding drugs by ourselves.
However, knowing how to go to see a doctor is truly something we should bear in mind. Two main aspects are contained when going to see a doctor; that is, finding good doctors and expressing our feeling thoroughly to the doctors. First time when we see a doctor in Taiwan, we’d better choose the local clinics in our neighborhood rather than big hospitals. Doctors in local clinics usually know much better of our disease. Besides, it is a waste of medical resources if we go to see a doctor in big hospital for merely small disease. If the doctors in local clinics aren’t able to cure our diseases, we should follow doctors’ advices to transfer to larger medical institutes.
No matter which doctor you consult, we must describe our sickness clearly. Any small details shall not be omitted because this might affect the precision of diagnosis. Some doctors in Taiwan might forget to ask some important details; as a result, we can remind them initiatively. After diagnosis, another thing we should tell the doctors is drugs fitness. Most of the drugs are poisonous; however, different people have different duration to the drugs. Some might trigger allergies and some can contribute to the tendency of sleep. All of these will cause many strong impacts on our bodies. In addition, as stepping out the clinics we should follow the instructions of taking drugs for this we really accelerate the effect of drugs. If the prescription is not effective for the disease, the small sheet of paper will be an important reference to another doctor to avoid making the same mistakes.
In conclusion, if we all know the right ways of seeing a doctor, wining the battle between disease and us will be quite easy. We shall not fear diseases!

A letter of a friend in Korea and my response(write in 2/25)

Hi- guys~! ^-^are you all doing well these days?it was so glad to recieve e-mails from some of you.. though i'm not good at english writtings, grammar things, and even in typing..T.Ti'm really hard trying to send you mine also.!we are still on vacation in Korea(Chris may not.. cause he is a year older than me~), so i'm hanging around with friends, read books, do swimming, and learning chinese.. some of my seniors asks why i learn languages other than english and says it may not be that fruitful.. but i'm ... still doing it! :^)kk Actually i've been learning it for only 2 months, and i'm now in just.. pronunciation course.. May be i can show you my.... short short chinese(it's toooo difficult! T.T) when some of you come to Korea this summer. ^^ And- i'm also participating in "night school", teaching some students who had no chance to go to school or graduate it due to some problems.(like economic things.. and so on) However right now, i'm a little bit concerned of continuing it even during my semester, cuz it needs so much time and effort. ^- ^ ;our new semester starts from March(it's next week..T.T), and from then, i think my life would be tough and tough and tough.... studying, teaching, preparing next eamsc, etc..but you guys are already busy doing all kinds of stuffs, right? way to go~!!^^it feels like so long time has passed since our eamsc in Taiwan, though it was just 3-4 weeks ago..and i really miss it. and i miss you guys, too~!!keep in touch~!^^ i'd like to hear form you all! How are u doing? everything is alright?
I will begin my new semester on2/26>"<.Much earlier than u.
after EAMSC,I did lots of things.I wrote down the whole things happened during this conference.It took me so long to type(maybe few thousand words each day!It was a wonderful memory that I don't want to forget any detail)Besides,I practice piano almost every day because there will be an important performance for me in march(works of Chopin,Bach...).Do u like classical music?If u like, I will send some my favorite mp3 to u.(my msn: sph0616@yahoo.com.tw) In addition, the most important festival:Chinese new year! There are nine days for holiday!so my family and I really enjoy it! I went to a theme park and enjoy a good time there.I played fireworks(cost 2000 nt dollars);however,it took less than half hour,all the fireworks was gone.It is truely like putting 2000$ on fire!!But it is really beautiful and meaningful when playing with my family.^^

Now new semester begins,it means another big challenge to me.Over 30 classes a week,still more than any other medical students in Taiwan.I will start to learn "the diagnosis of Chinese medicine".You might ask"Diagnosis,Wow,so early for freshman!"But that's turth,we must to face it.Outside class,I still have many duties .I have many jobs on the summer camp.(Preparing some camp is really a difficult works.Lots of things must be settled)In addition,I will be class monitor this semester, which means another great responsibility I must take.Besides,I join a chorus.I have to find some time to practice.As a result,this semester,I will be very busy!>"<

You just said u continue to learn Chinese. I am sure u will do it!!Although Chinese is very difficult to be learned,perseverance and hard works will surpport u!!By the way,I will do my best to get the qualification to go to Seoul this summer.I will also try to learn some Korean ^_^Maybe we can talk to each other in Chinese or Korean!I expect to see u again.If I can go,I will tell u this good news(maybe in May)

A contest for AMSC

Today,there is a contest for choosing the delegates of AMSC.AMSC is asian medical students conference.This year,this conference will be held in Korea.I really want to go there so I join this competition.
One mouth ago,I had gone to EAMSC(east asian medical students conference).As I mention before,this conference was held in Taipei.I ,honorly,represented my school to go to this conference.I have made lots of friend in EAMSC.With the expectation to meet them again,I decide to have a try .Besides,I have never gone to Korea before.Therefore,I truely want to go there this semester.
The topic for this year is about the conflicts to cancer.As a result, the aim of the contest is to test the knowledge and ideas about this issue.The way of presenting our idea will be "speech".I am very nervous when speaking in front of lots of people(needless to say I will speak in foreign language)There are 10 competitors in this contest.One of the competitors is 5th grade!!!!This fact make me lose my confidence. I'm 4th to go on the stage.The more closer to my time of speech,the more I fell nervous!>"<.I said to myself"Calm down,everything will be all right."
The moment the judge called my name,my mind went blank.The only thing I know is go on the stage . I started to make a speech.The topic should talk about cancer conflicts,but all the contents I mentioned were about the mechanism of tumor forming.Originally,there were more ideas in my mind but now only few simple words still "exist" in my mind.Therefore,I spent 4 min. circling around the same topic.The teacher stoped me 4min. since I began.Now,I knew myself probably have no chance to win the contest;as a result,in Q&A time,I was relaxed.I answered the question in a free way without any pressure.Unbelievably,this made me increase some points.Besides,I showed my good attitude toward this conference.While teacher ask me how did I think about this conference,I answered"I consider it much important in culture aspects rather than academics.Making foreign friends is not just "making friends".It's a learning between different culture."I thought this is the most important thing in this conference.
Eventually,I didn't get the qualification to go to AMSC.I am 5th place in this conference.(only 3 members)However,I won't give up.Next time ,I will do much efforts to get the qualification.

Busy week

This week (3/19~3/25) was a busy week.Lots of things must be done.

The diagnosis of Chinese medicine is a difficult subject.I spent lots of time studing this.Because there are lots of symptoms of different diseases.I have to nearly recite all the book!!"When we are doctor in the future",teacher said,"there is no time for consulting books as the patients come to find us."But for me now ,I am not used to studing Chinese medcine and don't have proper way of remember all these contents.
Another thing made me tired was the preparation of music contest.I join chorus in CGU(I sing tenor).This club is one of the biggest clubs in our school.With the ambition to win this contest,we started to prepare last semester!!We spent many time!!As it was close to the contest(3/28),more efforts are invested to get the great honor.For example,we sang till 11:00!!!!!!That means I didn't have time to study while back to dorm>"<.I hope such sacrifices will exchange the happines of victory.
The last thing also cost many time.I went to hospital to learn acupuncture.This was the first time I weared the white gown!Excited and expected,I went to CGMH on Saturday(3/24).I had prepared for this probation for long time,including reading some books about this in advanced.As the probation started,the doctor show us how to diagnosis and how to use the acupucture needle.I really learnt a lot.It costed lots of time but I think it's worthy.
Busy as I was this week,I really utilized any single moment efficiently.I also had good time while concentrating on things I intended to complete. I was happy!!^^

Strange story

Strange story: I like to play piano. I play piano twelve hours every day. Sometimes, I even forget to eat or take a bath and just play it. By the way, I love a person so much. So I always think about ‘him’. Yes, ‘him’! I hate myself but I can’t do anything. I am dora, I like myself. Because I am a good student and I plays piano very well. Every body loves me. Why does everyone love me? Of course it’s because I’m Dora and Dora is the strongest guy in the world forever and ever. None can beat Dora-me.

EAMAC in Taiwan

vEAMAC,which stands for East asia medical students conference,took place in Taiwan this year.This is a winter camp for all the medical students in the east asia.I,fortunately,got the opportunity to join the conference. The conference this year was held in Taipei on 1/28~2/2.The topics we discuss are about epidemics.Since there are more and more unknown epidemics ,we should think about some ways to prevent this catastrophe.During these days,all the delegates would attend some classes prepared in advance with view to receving some good ideas to avoid the diseases breaking out.For example,public sanitation plays an important role while controlling the spread of the disease.Right ways of washing our hands and wearing masks when in public space are both useful knowledge which should be advocated. Besides the academic courses,we had lots of activities to build the friendship of all delegats.There were 150 delegats in this conference and these delegates were separated to 12 groups.I was in Group 2.There were 14 people in our group,including group managers.First day,we didn't know each other and hardly could we find some words to chat with each other for cultural differences and poor English>"<.But little by littel,we started to know each other .In cultural night,all the delegates should wear traditional costumes and perform traditional dance.This activity lead us to realize and respect any culture from different coutries.In addition,we played games together.On the forth day,there were a game in CGU.Every group should follow the instruction to finish the missions.Lots of fun when we made efforts to complete the mission together .Furthermore,we went to some tourist attraction in Taipei.Taipei 101 and night markets in Taipei really left good impression in this journey. There were still many activities in the conference.Any moment in this conference won't I forget.I made lots of friends from Thailand,Korea,japan,Maraysia,Indonesia and Hong Kong.No matter how long,this friendship,I believe, will remain continuously.
